Uniform
Blackwell School has a school uniform, which is strongly supported by parents, children, staff and Governors. The uniform is as follows:
- Sweatshirt / Jumper / Cardigan - Royal Blue
- Skirt / Pinafore / Trouser / Shorts - Plain grey or Black
- Shirt / Blouse / T- Shirt - Plain White, Gold or Royal Blue
- Socks / Tights - White, Navy, Grey or Black
- Shoes - Black, sensible
In summer the colours remain the same, but if parents prefer to dress girls in cotton dresses (plain, checked or striped), then these will look equally smart.
We like all children to go out and play every day as they need a break and an opportunity to run about and play games with their friends. Therefore, during the winter months children will need to bring a warm coat every day. Children should wear wellies in very wet or snowy weather.
More Information
All children need to come to school in their PE kit on their allocated PE day. Their PE kit consists of;
- Black shorts or joggers
- White, yellow or blue t-shirt
- Soft-soled plimsolls are required for indoor PE, trainers may be worn for outdoor lessons
- Black tracksuit jumpers are useful in cold weather.
We consider extreme hairstyles to be inappropriate for school, examples of this are: bright hair dye colours, cuts less than grade 3 and patterns such as zigzags.
We feel this detracts from children's learning and therefore parents will be called if we feel a hairstyle is inappropriate.
Children are not allowed to wear nail varnish or jewellery in school. If your child has pierced ears only stud earrings are acceptable.
Watches must be removed for PE and swimming.

There are no minimum order quantities, and your uniform will be delivered directly to your chosen address. As well as our approved decorated school uniform, you are also able to order plain items such as trousers, skirts and shirts.

Please note that pupils are NOT required to wear uniform with a logo. You can pick up clothing in our uniform colours at most supermarkets.
School has a wide range of pre-loved uniform available, please speak to the school office if you would like to collect any.
Lost Property
To help avoid problems with lost property, parents are asked to mark all their child’s clothing and other belongings with their name. If your child loses anything, please check with your child’s class teacher.
No responsibility will be taken by the school for the loss of items or valuables. Toys, games, money or mobile phones should not be brought to school.
